COMMUNITY CELEBRATION EVENT
WITH THE CANALWAY BAND OF GEOCACHING BUCKEYES (C.B.G.B.)
June 25, 2025, Wednesday, at the Market District Portage Crossing
2687 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223
This will be a tribute to Hiking Viking, Mystic One and all that attend, for making the C.B.G.B. a continued success throught the years.
How did geocaching start? It began with a simple plastic bucket filled with trinkets and a logbook hidden by Dave Ulmer back in 2000. Fast-forward to 2011, and the very first "International Geocaching Day," was born. It's now held every third Saturday in August and celebrated in over 190 countries at least !!! Now we have Earthcache Day in October as well as many other special geocaching days to get out and get that geocache.
The event will be held either upstairs or on the patio depending on the weather. There is hot and cold food and drinks. Restrooms nearby. I will also bring some treats. Maybe even a free piece of pizza. All geocachers are invited to attend. A drawing will be held and four geocachers will win a geo-coin. I will draw the names from a box. First five to arrive to the event gets a free trackable.
Please bring your tales of discovering new and old geocaches. Your funny geo-stories like mud stomping swamps where you lost a shoe, bug bites, poison ivy itching, help I'm off the trail, coordinates wrong again, tales will definitely be welcomed. We all need a chuckle once in a while. Bring along pictures and postcards if you have any of your vacations and adventures.
Also for all who attend the West Virginia Geowoodstock XXI event in May, we would like to hear about your adventures and fun.
There is a souvenir for attending this event. Hope to see you there. You may bring a friend if you wish.
