Come one, come all!  To celebrate Pi Day!!

Why do we celebrate Pi Day?

To recognize the importance of math in our world

To promote the beauty of math

To have fun with math

To celebrate the infinite nature of pi

And most importantly, to have fun with our geoaching friends!

Join us for (pi)zza and chicken as we discuss pi, puzzles, geocaches, and adventures.

After the meal, join in THE PIE WALK FUN!!

To participate in the Pi Walk game, you will need to bring a PIE.

- It must be a PIE you'd like to receive.

- It can be store bought or homemade.

- One pie for each participant.

- There will be numbers.  When the music stops, a random number will be pulled from the hat. The player who has that number will get their choice of the pies that are on the table. Then that player will be out of the game with their pie in hand.

- The game will continue until everyone who brought a pie will leave with a pie.

- When you have the lucky number, you can choose a pie that someone else has brought, or even choose the pie that you brought!  Your choice!

- If you do not wish to play the Pie Walk game, then just enjoy the fun! Do not need to have a pie in order to attend this event.  Just bring your smiles!

Pi Day Fun Facts

  • Famed mathematician and physicist Albert Einstein was, appropriately enough, born on Pi Day in 1879.

  • Pi Day was started in 1988 by physicist Larry Shaw at San Francisco's Exploratorium, where he was fondly known as the Prince of Pi.

  • Congress made Pi Day official in 2009.

And for the ASTRONOMERS, I have another interesting fact about today:

According to Wiki; A total lunar eclipse will occur at the Moon’s descending node of orbit on Friday, March 14, 2025.
A lunar eclipse is an astronomical event when the moon moves into the earth's shadow causing the moon to be darkened. Such an alignment occurs during an eclipse season,, approximately every six months, during the full moon phase.

~~NO purchase of food or beverages is required to attend this event~~
