Geocaching International Film Festival 2025
November 6-16, 2025
This year’s GIFF theme is “TFTC—Thanks For The Community!” which is the reason we decided to use our Community Celebration Event for this occasion!
No need to travel far to watch these short movies. This year, Groundspeak invited budding movie makers to create short videos for us to enjoy and laugh at. More than 60 filmmakers from 21 countries submitted a film to the 11th biennial Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF). This year's GIFF reel contains an hour of carefully selected finalists’ films made by geocachers, for geocachers, about geocachers, geocaches and geocaching. The geocaching community is full of storytellers, filmmakers, and artists of all types. The Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF) is an opportunity for these geocachers to share their cinematic creations with the world.
We'll have seating for about 40+ people. It's the movies so we'll have popcorn and unlike the pricey movie theaters, you're welcome to sneak in your own treats. The plan is to gather at 6:00 pm, schmooze and swap our own geocaching stories before we dim the lights and start the show at 6:30 pm. We get to pick our own winners, so ballots will be distributed for you to tally your favorites during the hour-long showing of movie shorts.
The videos should take about an hour. A door prize drawing will be right after viewing the GIFF videos. Your hosts will need to clear everyone out by 8:00 p.m. and clean up all the spilled popcorn.
