25 Challenges for 25 years of Geocaching!
This cache is NOT placed at the posted coordinates, GZ is listed as a visible waypoint.
To support Victoria's first ever Block Party, event mascot Muggle the Puggle has teamed up with geocachers across Victoria to place a range of caches for you all to find & enjoy. Whether you visit before, during, or after The Sunbury Event, we hope you enjoy your time in Sunbury & the surrounding areas of Hume.
This series of 25 Challenge Caches are all themed around the number 25 (some more loosely than others). Happy 25 years!
This challenge has not been deliberately designed to exclude or discriminate against any Geocachers, but to create a sense of achievement when you reach certain goals. Feel free to sign this cache at any time, but to claim the find you must qualify for the challenge. If you do not qualify, you may add a 'write note' log until such time that you do qualify. The challenge checker at the bottom of this page will tell you if you qualify. This challenge has been placed in compliance with the Challenge Cache Guidelines and the Victorian Regional Policy.
Muggle the Puggle's Challenge #1 - Minus 25 Meters elevation Challenge
The first geocache ever hidden, The Original Stash (GCF), was hidden by Dave Ulmer in the woods of Oregon, USA back on 03-May-2000. Since then over 3 million more geocaches has been in all over the World, with caches being hidden in 191 different countries across all seven continents (even Antarctica)! Caches have been hidden as high as the peak of Mount Everest (Chomolungma) and as low as the Marianas Trench. There's even a cache hidden in space!
Don't worry this challenge won't make you go that far, but this challenge has been hidden in order to celebrate that geocaching has made it too those extremes.
In order to qualify for this challenge cache you need to find a minimum of one cache that has a recorded elevation of minus 25 meters or lower. Good Luck!
Note: For cache types that are not at the posted coordinates (e.g. Unknown, Mutli, Letterbox & Whereigo), elevation data is calculated on the cache's posted coordinates, so you will not necessarily need to go 25 meters under water to complete this challenge! At the time of submission, there was 8 active caches in Victoria that are 25+ meters below sea level and another 16 elsewhere in Australia.
