Geocache Description:

25 Challenges for 25 years of Geocaching!

This cache is NOT placed at the posted coordinates, GZ is listed as a visible waypoint.

To support Victoria's first ever Block Party, event mascot Muggle the Puggle has teamed up with geocachers across Victoria to place a range of caches for you all to find & enjoy. Whether you visit before, during, or after The Sunbury Event, we hope you enjoy your time in Sunbury & the surrounding areas of Hume.

This series of 25 Challenge Caches are all themed around the number 25 (some more loosely than others). Happy 25 years!

This challenge has not been deliberately designed to exclude or discriminate against any Geocachers, but to create a sense of achievement when you reach certain goals. Feel free to sign this cache at any time, but to claim the find you must qualify for the challenge. If you do not qualify, you may add a 'write note' log until such time that you do qualify. The challenge checker at the bottom of this page will tell you if you qualify. This challenge has been placed in compliance with the Challenge Cache Guidelines and the  Victorian Regional Policy.

Muggle the Puggle's Challenge #7 - Type x Hidden Month Countdown Challenge

Note: This cache does NOT require you to complete a JASMER challenge! It is merely inspired by it...

In order to qualify for this challenge cache you will need to find...
125 different hidden months using one cache type
100 different hidden months using a second cache type
75 different hidden months using a third cache type
50 different hidden months using a fourth cache type
25 different hidden months using a fifth cache type

Good Luck!

PGC Checker

When we look back at 25 years of Geocaching history through the lens of challenge caches, there is one challenge that sits above all others. To many, it is the holy grail of challenges. Named after the first hider (jasmerb) to ever hide such a challenge, The Jasmer Challenge (Northern California Edition) (GC1GBC1) requires Geocachers to find a cache placed in every calendar month since Geocaching started in May 2000. Currently, this challenge is not possible to complete without visting Sweden or the USA (home to the sole remaining 4 caches worldwide hidden in August 2000). It is an incredibly difficult challenge to complete, even more so for Aussies!

In Australia, a local version of this challenge has become known as the Australian Jasmer aka the Ausmer and either starts from January 2001 or allows for 4 months to be skipped depending on the variation. This is because the months of June, July, August & September 2000 are not available here. As of January 2025, there are 297 different months required to complete a full JASMER grid (or 293 for an Ausmer). Completing an AUSMER is also an impressive feat in it's own right, with very limited opportunities to fulfil some of the earlier months.

Given the difficulty of completing an AUSMER (let alone a JASMER), we arent going to set you that challenge. Im still 3 months off completing it myself. Instead, we decided to put an easier spin on things using the hidden month metric.
