On a recent trip to Barangaroo with my grandchildren, I noticed a lot of rubbish, particularly plastics, that had been washed up onto the beautiful sandstone blocks by the tide of Sydney Harbour. It was immediately obvious that this would be a great location for a CITO event, to give back to the community.
Details as follows:
Task: To remove rubbish, particularly around the water's edge, of the Barangaroo reserve precinct.
Date: Saturday, 2nd November
Location: Nawi Cove, Barangaroo
Event Times: 3:00pm to 4:00pm
Transport: The newly opened Barangaroo Metro Station is in close proximity.
What to Bring: Your enthusiasm plus a hat, sturdy shoes, sun protection clothing, sunscreen, gloves and any food and drink requirement, particularly water.
What Will Be Supplied: Small garbage bags for your rubbish collection. These can then be deposited in the various rubbish bins around Barangaroo. Disposable gloves with also be provided for those that need them.
Special Request: I do ask that attendees actually participate in the rubbish removal activity (and not just turn up) in order to be eligible to claim an "Attended". Thanks for your cooperation.
I'm looking forward to seeing you at this event.
Cheers,
