Station Road foot bridge was replaced in 2021 with a new 22-metre-long, 20-tonne steel structure footbridge. The replacement bridge has a protective paint system which Falkirk Council says will allow it to stand up better to strong weather conditions. The original bridge was beginning to show its age and due to projected costs for reapairs and maintanence Falkirk council decided it would be cheaper in the long run to just replace the bridge with a new £133,000 structure.

The new footbridge, linking Brightons and Polmont, was hoisted into the air over the Union Canal.
The work took 2 weeks to complete and is a vital link to polmont train station for pedestrians.
Cache
Whilst out for a family walk, my daughter pointed out that the area was excellent for a cache and wanted to put one in the area.
After searching through our geocaching box for ideas she decided on what she wanted to use and we placed it for your searching enjoyment.
Have fun.
