Geocache Description:

The moon was a pale sliver, barely lighting the cursed stretch of land known as Dread Pathway. The trees loomed overhead, their branches tangled like skeletal fingers. In the middle of the dirt road, a figure lay bound tightly with rough, thick rope that cut into his flesh. His body convulsed, jerking violently as his bones cracked and twisted beneath his skin.

The werewolf’s transformation was well underway.

His muscles swelled, stretching the skin to the breaking point as fur sprouted in patches along his arms and legs. His nails elongated into claws, scraping the dirt as he thrashed in vain. Yellow eyes, glowing with a maddening hunger, flickered open beneath the furrowed brow of a beast that could not be contained.

But the rope held.

Every twist of his body made the knots dig deeper, tearing the skin beneath. His snarls were guttural, filled with pain and a hunger that could never be satisfied. The beast within him raged, but the ropes bit into his flesh like a noose tightening around his neck, unrelenting.

Footsteps echoed faintly in the distance, but no one dared to come closer. The villagers knew the horror bound on that road. They had watched him rip through flesh and bone, savaging anything in his path the last time he broke free. They’d captured him, tied him to Dread Pathway with ropes soaked in herbs and charms meant to keep him bound.

But even those couldn’t stop the change.

The werewolf snarled again, fangs bared as his body convulsed. His ribs pressed against his skin, threatening to tear through. The ropes groaned under the strain but held firm. He roared, a sound that shook the night, a call to the wild he could no longer answer.

And he would stay there, bound and writhing, a creature caught between man and monster, waiting in agony for a freedom that would never come.
