“Don't ever take a fence down until you know the reason why it was put up,” was ascribed to Chesterton by John F. Kennedy in a 1945 notebook. Other people ascribe the quote to Robert Frost. Me, I just liked it and I liked this place for this cache.
EDIT: As I came to check on this one, I happened to see that there is a locked box nearby the original coordinates that is used by park maintenance folks (one was there when I walked up which made looking for it a bit awkward but I just doubled back after he left.) I suspect that is why the original cache went missing. I still don't know why the little fence piece exists but I placed the new cache on the other side of the Monon trail in a rather obvious place if you stop to look. Remember that muggles abound in this area so please be discreet as you search.
Easy walk/bike/hike/roll or any other means of getting you there on the Monon greenway. Muggle heaven here, of course, so reflect on your behavior before interacting with this one. Any parking I could think of is at least 0.5 miles from here so you might as well cache your way to this one! There are finds and parking near the Monon both north and south of this location. Enjoy!
