The Avon Gang has been busy lately but took the time to place this easy cache hide for those of us that are getting on up there.
Avon's founder, David H. McConnell originally sold books as a door-to-door salesman to New York homes. In September of 1886 he decided to sell perfumes rather than books. Expanding through the years he took on several partners and the business became known as the California Perfume Company in 1909 and 30 years later it was changed to the Avon Company.
Avon used the door-to-door salespeople approach as well as the telephone to sell their products. When your door bell rang or the telephone, millions of housewives across the United States could expect to hear "Avon Calling."
