נבנה בשלהי שנות ה-40 של המאה ה-20, זמן קצר לאחר הקמת הקיבוץ ב-1945, מגדל המים היה חיוני להתפתחות החקלאות והחיים בקיבוץ הצעיר. מבנה הבטון המרשים הזה לא רק סיפק מים לתושבים ולשדות, אלא גם שימש כנקודת תצפית ושמירה בימים של מתיחות ביטחונית.
כיום, למרות שאינו פעיל למטרתו המקורית, המגדל עומד איתן כסמל לחוסן ולהתמדה של המתיישבים הראשונים. הוא מהווה נקודת ציון בולטת בנוף המקומי ומזמין אותנו להרהר בהיסטוריה העשירה של האזור.
Welcome to the historic water tower of Kibbutz Mishmarot! This tower, standing at about 15 meters tall, is a silent witness to the story of settlement and pioneering in the Jezreel Valley.
Built in the late 1940s, shortly after the kibbutz was established in 1945, the water tower was vital to the development of agriculture and life in the young kibbutz. This impressive concrete structure not only provided water to residents and fields but also served as an observation and guard point during times of security tension.
Today, although no longer active for its original purpose, the tower stands firm as a symbol of the resilience and perseverance of the early settlers. It remains a prominent landmark in the local landscape, inviting us to reflect on the rich history of the area.
