900 jähriger Europäischer Zürgelbaum

Deutsch Mittelmeer-Zürgelbaum (lat. Celtis australis)
Der Legende nach wurde dieser Mittelmeer-Zürgelbaum (poprivic) vom kroatischen König Krešimir bei seinem Besuch auf der Insel Krk zwischen 1058 und 1074 gepflanzt. Trotz aller Strapazen seiner langen Geschichte ist dieser Mittelmeer-Zürgelbaum heute einer der größten und ältesten Zürgelbäume auf unserer Insel. Dieses auffällige Exemplar und die beachtlichen Ausmaße seines Stammes und seiner Äste ziehen die Aufmerksamkeit vieler Passanten auf sich.

Poprivic Koprivic (lat. Celtis australis) Predaja kaže da je poprívic posadio hrvatski kralj Krešimir prilikom vizitacije otoka Krka za vrijeme svoje vladavine izmedu 1058. i 1074. godine. Usprskos brojnim nedacama minulih vremena danas je jedna od najvecih i najstarijih popriva na našem otoku. Zbog svoje slikovitosti, prenaglašenih dimenzija debla i grana privlaci pažnju mnogogrojníh prolaznika.

Englisch Mediterranean hackberry (lat.Celtis australis)
According to folclore, this Mediterranean hackberry (poprívic) was planted by the Croatian king Krešimir during his visitation to the island of Krk, between 1058 and 1074. Despiteof all the weathered hardships of its long history, this Mediterranean hackberry is one of the largest and oldest hackberries on our island today. This striking specimen and the considerable dimensions of its trunk and branches draw the attention of many passerby.
