Dread Pathway: Reaper’s Leisure Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MainePublisher: All geocache placements must have a responsive owner. The cache owner must be able to respond to issues that come up and to submit an "owner maintenance" log to remove the "needs maintenance" icon.

In addition to the "needs maintenance" logs and DNF logs, Goundspeak also uses a Health Score algorithm. https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713

In this case, Groundspeak has sent an email to the cache owner with no response. The cache owner did not respond to any of the cachers hoping to find the cache and did not respond to the reviewer note so the cache is now archived.

The cache location is now open for any Geocacher to place a new cache, including the original cache owner.

Geocache Description:

Every fall, when the summer sun finally gave way to the chill of autumn, the Grim Reaper and his faithful companions, the Harbingers, would gather for their annual retreat to Dread Pathway—a forsaken trail said to run between the world of the living and the dead. It was their sanctuary, a place where even spirits dared not tread.

This year, they'd lived it up like never before—cruising through stormy nights, collecting souls beneath eclipsed moons, and hosting wild afterlife parties that shook the Underworld itself. But as the air grew crisp, the Reaper's bones ached for something quieter, darker... more *intimate*. The chill of Dread Pathway called to him, and his shadowy comrades were eager to join.

They arrived at twilight, when the veil between realms was thinnest. The Pathway was silent, save for the soft rustle of dead leaves that whispered of forgotten souls. Black trees loomed overhead, their twisted branches like skeletal fingers reaching for something unseen. As they walked deeper, the atmosphere thickened, pressing in on them like the weight of centuries. The fun had barely begun.

There, in the heart of the Pathway, the Reaper and his friends laid out their grim plans: ghostly bonfires flickering with the light of lost spirits, ghastly games played in the dim glow of their scythes, and a haunting melody carried on the wind—the music of a thousand souls crying out in unison. But what made Dread Pathway special wasn't just the fun, it was the thrill of the unknown. Every year, something changed. New terrors waited, lurking in the shadows, eager to make their mark on the eternal beings who roamed this haunted trail.

Suddenly, from the darkness, a low, guttural growl echoed. The Reaper paused, a grin forming beneath his hood. "Looks like we're not alone this year," he whispered, gripping his scythe tighter.

The others stopped, too, eyes gleaming with anticipation. They lived for this—the thrill of facing the unseen. This was why they came back to Dread Pathway.

As the growls grew louder, the shadows around them shifted. Something ancient stirred in the Pathway. The Reaper's grin widened.

"Let the fun begin."
