I would not stay here long if I were you, only long enough to sign the log and replace as found, or you might run into Superman, possibly E. T. or you might get transported to another time in space somewhere.
The first one of these things was invented in 1889 by William Gray. At one point, there were over 2 million of these in the United States, but today there are fewer than 300,000. This is now just a remnant of ancient history.
