Geocache Description:

I can't go to Hawaii and not get under the water!!!

A pre-dive Meet & Greet!  The "T" rating is due to the early hour, and the goal that participants will dive with the group.  As typical, attending the event is free, participating in the activity is not.

We'll meet at the Dive shop, and finish coffee, gather gear, sign forms, and prepare for our excursion. For those attending the event only, we'll be meeting outside the shop on the sidewalk, by the corner of the building and the fencing.

We'll then transfer to boat for a two-dive adventure!  a Wreck & a Reef

Scuba Dive at Shipwreck and Coral Reef Sites Near Waikiki Beach
Join a small group of certified divers for Waikiki Dive Center’s morning excursion to two extraordinary sites. One stop is at a deepwater shipwreck and the other is a shallower dive in a natural coral reef!

The crew will make sure you get the most out of your underwater adventure. Divers regularly see endangered Hawaiian monk seals, humpback whales, and some phenomenal coral formations. They will show you the best of Oahu’s underwater wildlife!

Tours depart from Kewalo Basin Harbor or Maunalua Bay, depending on which one you book. They provide transportation to and from the harbor. They rotate between a selection of reef dive sites, including:

The Sea Tiger - This is the deepest recreational shipwreck dive site in Oahu. Ask your guide about the ship’s intriguing history.  GC9E0TB is located at this location.  A 2.5/5.0 scuba cache!

San Pedro - A Korean fishing company operated this boat back in the 1970s. It was eventually sunk after catching fire off South Point.

YO-257 - This vessel had a long history in World War II and the Korean War. This site is also a prime location for octopuses and large eels.

Nautilus Reef - This is a prime location for octopuses and large eels.

Kewalo Pipe/Horseshoe Reef - Beware the large schools of barracuda and giant moray eels that call this spot home.

Additional Notes:
The dive boat is limited to 20 divers. Divers need to gather at the Dive Shop by 6:30am and the boat departs at 6:45am.  This is also a more advanced itinerary.  The cost for an "Advanced Certified" Diver is $179.  The cost for a "Basic Open Water" Diver is $239.  The fee includes gear rental as well.  The shipwreck has a max depth of 100'/30m.  It is recommended that Divers be "Advanced Certified" and have at least 25 logged dives.

When you log your "Will Attend", let me know if you will be diving or not.  If there are enough divers, we can reserve the boat for our group.
