Get ready for a thrilling geocaching journey along the Riparian Trail in Chesterfield’s Central Park. This section of the trail was added about two years ago, expanding on an older part of the park’s trail system. I was surprised that no geocaches had been hidden here yet, so I decided to place one! Your adventure starts by a serene lake and follows the beautiful creek, where you’ll solve a series of gadget caches, leading to the final location—an abandoned car wreck deep in the woods.
Be prepared for a bit of bushwhacking through dense honeysuckle, and be cautious near the final stage, as there are sharp objects in the area. The difficulty has been bumped up to reflect these challenges, but don’t worry, the tool of the trade is provided for all stages to help you complete the journey. Each gadget cache will test your skills while allowing you to enjoy the stunning surroundings.
A word of warning about the final stage: it is very, very, very painstaking. This is no easy task, and you’ll need a lot of patience to complete it. I strongly recommend bringing a friend or two along to make the process faster and more enjoyable. You’ll be glad you have the extra hands!
The Riparian Trail is a hidden gem, providing a peaceful escape through the forest, nestled between the urban areas of Chesterfield. As you walk along the creek and through the woods, you’ll be surrounded by nature’s beauty.
