This event is in the same place as my previous ones, although I hope to base future events in other areas! The coordinates are for the band stand in Hall Leys Park, Matlock, so if it rains we do have some cover. There is a cafe nearby which does everything from full breakfasts to tea/coffee with or without cake - I am promised that this time they will be open barring major catastrophes - in any event there are several other options in town nearby. There is outdoor seating but the cafe ask that you use the nearby park benches rather than their furniture if you are not buying anything from them. There doesn't seem to be any official event happening that might clash so we should have space to chat.
I would be grateful if you could let me know if you plan to attend and whether you will be eating/drinking so I can give the cafe some idea of numbers – it seems to be a popular venue, so you may need to queue!
Hopefully there will be another AdLab ready for the event - no hills this time! And, for anyone who hasn't done them yet, another local CO has a neat trail of 6 caches on paths between the edge of Matlock and Tansley. Finally, as an added bonus, there is the chance to claim a souvenir - from 29th September to 5th October Geocaching is celebrating World Postcard Day. If you attend any official Geocaching event during this period and post an "Attended" log for that event, you will receive a special World Postcard Day souvenir on your Geocaching account.
Note: There is limited on street parking in the vicinity of the park, some pay parking close by or up to 3 hours free in the local supermarket car park.
