The Old Pecan Tree - Cullinan Park

Welcome to Cullinan Park, a beautiful hike-only nature trail-filled park, nestled right here in Sugar Land, Texas. Here, there’s a trail that leads to an ancient pecan tree. This venerable tree has witnessed over a century of seasons, its gnarled branches reaching out like the arms of a wise elder.Â
To find it, you need to get to the Old Pecan Tree Hiking Trail, which is a 2,510-foot green singletrack trail, which can be hiked in both directions. The trail meanders through the park, offering glimpses of wildlife, including snakes, armadillos, rabbits, and deer. (I have provided trailhead waypoints to get you there.) Â
There it stands; the 23rd largest tree in Texas, this ancient pecan tree, its roots firmly anchored in the soil, whispering secrets of bygone days.Â
And remember, when you stand beneath that old pecan tree, listen closely—you might just hear echoes of forgotten laughter and whispered secrets, and... you may find a hidden treasure!
