Welcome to wild and wonderful, West Virginia! Birthed during the Civil War and forged from the coal mining industry. the Mountain State is the 35th state to join the Union. Being the most southern of the northern states and the most northern of the southern states, West Virginia is unique thanks to its rich cultural history and hospitable charm. Combine this with the unique topography of the region, and it's easy to see why this area is called Almost Heaven.
This cache in your tour of America will bring you to the heart of Appalachia, Camp Muffly. Located just off Interstate 79 between Fairmont and Morgantown, this park is home to 4-H camps, festivals, weddings, and the casual summer picnic. Please be mindful of activities happening at the park during your visit, especially during the summer months, but they shouldn't negatively impact your search.
You are searching for a large crate-like container with a lock (it shouldn't be hard to spot) on the porch of the park office. To open the cache and sign the log, you'll need to enter the year West Virginia joined the union into the lock. This year is significant because West Virginia is the only state formed as a result of the Civil War. Please enjoy the assortment of SWAG in this large container and replace everything exactly as you found it.
