Vzgojni zavod je v Logatcu od leta 1953, ko so v starem Windischgraetzovem gradu v Gornjem Logatcu uredili deško vzgajališče. Ustanova je obstajala že pred tem. V Logatec se je preselila iz Bele krajine, njeni začetki pa segajo v leto 1873. Zavod je bil vseskozi namenjen vzgoji in izobraževanju mladostnikov.
V zgodovini je zavod doživljal vzpone in padce. Eden izstopajočih mejnikov ne samo v zavodski zgodovini, pač pa tudi v zgodovini vzgoje v Sloveniji nasploh, je obdobje t.i. Logaškega eksperimenta od leta 1967 do 1971. Eksperiment je predstavljal korak od avtoritarnega k permisivnemu načinu vzgoje, spoznanja, izhajajoča iz tega eksperimenta, pa so se razširila tudi po drugih vzgojno-izobraževalnih inštitucijah.
Vzgojni zavod je v Logatcu deloval v 70 in 80-ih letih prejšnjega stoletja. Prostore so imeli v Gradu v gornjem Logatcu. Sem so prihajali otroci z vse Slovenije. Med tednom so se izobraževali, konec tedna so nekateri odhajali domov, nekaj pa jih je ostalo v ustanovi. V Logaščici je bilo v tistih letih še precej rib. Fantje so zato prišli na idejo, da bi si nalovili rib, ki bi jih nato pekli. Ker niso imeli ribiških palic, so vzeli dolgo žico in nanjo privezali kamen, nato pa so le tega vrgli čez žice daljnovoda, slišali so namreč, da lahko ribe omamijo z električnim tokom. Seveda pa ni šlo vse po načrtu, žice so se namreč med seboj zapletle in prišlo je do izpada električnega toka, zato je bilo naselje pol dneva brez elektrike.
Današnja naloga ne bo tako nevarna, vsaj kar se tiče elektrike. Vsebnik se nahaja na podanih koordinatah, za najdbo pa boste potrebovali le posebno orodje. Pa ne kamna in žice.

The educational institution has been in Logatec since 1953, when a boys' boarding school was set up in the old Windischgraetz castle in Gornji Logatec. The institution existed before that. It moved to Logatec from Bela Krajina, and its beginnings date back to 1873. The institution has always been dedicated to the upbringing and education of adolescents.
The institution has experienced ups and downs in its history. One of the outstanding milestones not only in the history of the institution, but also in the history of education in Slovenia in general, is the period of the so-called Logatec experiment from 1967 to 1971. The experiment represented a step from an authoritarian to a permissive method of education, and the insights derived from this experiment also spread to other educational institutions.
The educational institution operated in Logatec in the 1970s and 1980s. They had their premises in the Castle in upper Logatec. Children from all over Slovenia came here. During the week they were educated, at the weekend some went home, and some stayed at the institution. In those years there were still quite a few fish in Logaščica. So the boys came up with the idea of catching fish and then frying them. Since they didn't have fishing rods, they took a long wire and tied a stone to it, and then threw it over the power line wires, as they had heard that fish could be stunned with an electric current. Of course, not everything went according to plan, the wires got tangled up and there was a power outage, so the village was without electricity for half a day.
