Vechiul pod pietonal Gelu din intravilanul Iosefin-Dâmbovița a fost construit în anul 1949 și demolat în vara anului 2023 datorită construcției și deteriorării avansate.
În locul lui, a fost construit un pod modern din oțel, beton și spații verzi integrate, în valoare de aproximativ 2,5 milioane de euro, care leagă malurile de pe ambele maluri ale Begăi cu potecile și pistele de biciclete existente.
Clădirea impresionantă este o priveliște absolută datorită luminii sale extraordinare, mai ales pe timp de noapte, și este, prin urmare, o altă atracție a orașului Timișoara.

The old Gelu pedestrian bridge in the Iosefin-Dâmbovița urban area was built in 1949 and demolished in the summer of 2023 due to its construction and advanced deterioration.
In its place, a modern bridge made of steel, concrete and integrated green spaces was built for around 2.5 million euros, connecting the banks on both sides of the Bega with the existing footpaths and cycle paths.
The imposing structure is an absolute sight due to its extraordinary lighting, especially at night, and thus another attraction in the city of Timișoara.

Die alte Gelu-Fußgängerbrücke im Stadtteil Josefstadt (Iosefin-Dâmbovița) wurde im Jahr 1949 erbaut und im Sommer 2023 auf Grund ihrer Bauweise und dem fortgeschrittenem Verfall abgerissen.
An ihrer Stelle entstand für rund 2,5 Millionen Euro eine moderne Brücke aus Stahl, Beton und integrierten Grünflächen, das die Ufer beidseitig der Bega mit den bestehenden Fuß- und Radwegen verbindet.
Das imposante Bauwerk ist durch seine außergewöhnliche Beleuchtung besonders bei Nacht eine absolute Sehenswürdigkeit und damit ein weiterer Anziehungspunkt der Stadt Timișoara.
