This 11-hectare stand of native bush is a remnant of the original podocarp forest that would have once covered the Neudorf Valley. It was protected by a QEII covenant in 1984. A Queen Elizabeth II covenant does not necessarily mean that the public has the right to visit an area but is about protecting it in perpetuity. In 2020 the stream on either side of the QEII block was fenced and planting began to protect the waterway, spread biodiversity, and to create a public walkway for the community to enjoy.
The cache is on the northern side of the stream.
