City Brook Trail was recently established in South Waterford, Maine, along a stream which was once home to more than a dozen mills of varying uses from the late 18th century into the early 20th. There were four mills in this section of the brook, including a tannery, foundry, saw mill and grist mill. There are traces of foundations and dams along the trail. Portions of the trail are on property owned by the Western Foothills Land Trust which has given permission for the cache.
The cache is a small snap lock box a short distance from the trail.
Parking is available on Sweden Road at the intersection with Routes 35/37 across from the trailhead. There is an informational sign placed by the Waterford Historical Society. Please use care crossing to the trail.
