A geocaching event at Stone (Staffs) railway station. Meet at 5.30pm to 6pm on Friday 18th October 2024
All are invited to Stone outside the splendid station building that is now used as a community centre. Shall be meeting before the next train to Stafford that runs hourly to talk about all things geocaching.
Stone railway station was opened on May 1st 1849 by the North Staffordshire Railway Company. At one time it had 4 platforms serving two separate lines. In recent times there were no trains serving the station for four years from 2004 while upgrade works were talking place. The Dutch style station building no longer has passenger facilities.
