Geocache Description:

Today's the day the Geo-bears have their picnic!

I know there are a lot of geocaching teddies out there, so this is an invitation for them (and their humans) to get together and meet other geobears and geocachers.  Teddies of all kinds are welcome, they don't need to be bears. I know we have several bears, a mouse, a dog, and a bunny in the Christchurch geocaching community and I'm sure there are more.

Children are welcome to come as long as they are old enough to respect teddies who might not want to play, but there will be no planned activities for kids, it's just a meet and greet event in a lovely spot.

No dogs (apart from dogs that are teddies of course), dogs and teddies are not a good combination.

This is usually a peaceful spot with less people and has great views.  Hopefully we will get the picnic table, but feel free to bring picnic blankets and a picnic lunch.  If the weather is wet we can shelter in the nearby information centre or postpone the event (teddies don't like being wet!).  I will post an announcement on the cache page if this is needed.

You are still welcome to come without a teddy, but you might like to adopt a new friend from an op shop to bring with you so you don't feel left out.

There's plenty of parking in the area, and then several trails that lead up to the event site.  Follow signs to the information centre and the event is nearby.  The wheelchair accessible Tawhairaunui Trail leads up to the event location, but there are other trails that are more convenient from the playground carpark.
