Alabama was the twenty-second state to ratify the US Constitution on December 14, 1819.
Fun Fact - Alabama does not have an official nickname, but it is often referred to as the “Heart of Dixie.” It has also been called the “Cotton State” and the “Yellowhammer State.”Alabama has the largest fishing tournament in the world. In 1996 bear wrestling became illegal here.
