International EarthCache Day is observed on the first Sunday of Earth Science Week, hosted by the Geological Society of America. This year, cachers can earn a souvenir by logging an EarthCache between October 11th and 13th. I'm commemorating the weekend by finding my 100th EarthCache on Powell Butte, an extinct volcano. Come celebrate my milestone with me and enjoy the view.
We'll meet at the Mountain Finder on Powell Butte and hang out for the 1/2 hour event. I'll bring some treats to share while we're there. Rain or shine, I'll be up on the cinder cone! Hope to see you there!
*Note: the event location is about a 1 km hike each way from the parking lot.Â
