The Electoral College was created as part of the U.S. Constitution to balance the interests of both large and small states in presidential elections. By giving each state a set number of electors based on its congressional representation (its number of senators and representatives), it ensures that both population and state sovereignty play a role in electing the president. This system helps prevent densely populated urban areas from solely deciding the outcome, giving a voice to more rural and less populous regions. Electors typically follow the popular vote within their state, and the candidate who reaches a majority of 270 electoral votes wins the presidency. This compromise reflects the founders' intent to balance popular democracy with the interests of states as individual political entities.
For this challenge, you need to find at least 10 caches within that states borders in order to "win" that state, and be awarded its electoral votes. You will need a total of 270 electoral votes in order to qualify for this challenge. You can campaign in any states that you want. The updated electoral vote distribution based on the 2020 Census data will be used for this challenge (as reflected in the image above). All previous cache finds count.
