Geocache Description:

A timely trend in late-October candy-harvesting has been the trunk-or-treat events designed as a safer scheme for costumed kids to get their goodies. This event-cache is meant to be a similar system for the children of geocachers to gather and greet each other, while collecting some amount of treats as well. Come out to Severson Dells Forest Preserve picnic shelter on Saturday from 4:00 – 4:30 PM for a good time of meet 'n' greet 'n' candy-eat!

Whether you're a costumed kid-cacher, a perceptive parent with trick-or-treating children, or even a caching grandparent glad to grant grand grins to growing guys and gals, come out with the rest of us for this fun, family-friendly, forest-frolic, fructose-feasting, fall festival!

Adult geocachers should bring plenty of treats to share with all the kids. Consider passing out candy from a large-sized cache container or that come pre-packaged in small cache containers, if you like. There are lots of picnic tables here, and each cacher can stake out a table and pass out treats as the kids roam around showing off their costumes. I don't know how many kids we'll have, so plan to bring plenty for the adults to trade afterward as well! (Since this is after the actual Halloween night, you can always empty out that day's leftovers here.)
