Within Min Ryan Park, which is an open public park containing an array of attractive features, including a playground, skate park, multi use games area and picnic area, dog park, memorial garden, walking track, water features, multi-use events area, play spaces, wildflower meadows and art/sculpture displays. The Park also includes a series of rich, biodiverse eco-systems such as a wetland area, wildflower meadows and native woodland habitats.
We frequently take a walk around the facilty when the weather parmits and have considered it a good location for a cache. In particular, a memorial garden, which commemorateds 870 Wexford men and woman who lost their lives during the Great War of 1914 to 1918.
The Garden contains a replica of the Cross of Ginchy, which is associated with commemoration of the more than 49000 Irish who died while serving in the military forces of Britian, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and United States of America during the Great War.
The Garden now also contains a magnetic cache located on one of the three benches which are positioned around the cross.
You will need to bring your own pen/pencil, and to carefully replace the log sheet and cache as found.
Take your time to visit the park and enjoy the atmosphere.
