Caps Off for the Home Team!
America’s pastime is alive and well in Franklin County. Greencastle is home to many baseball and softball fields. Throughout the year, there are scores of practices, games, and tournaments which provide plenty of opportunities for kids to have fun while learning lessons about sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and the importance of grit and determination.
I have created two caches that celebrate baseball/softball, while acknowledging some music associated with the sport. I did not want to go with some obvious songs like “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” “Centerfield,” or “Glory Days.” It’s not that I don’t like those songs, but they have been around for over 4 decades. Here is a song that is just a couple of years old and many young softball players have used this as their walk-up song. (I could not find the lyrics, so I took it upon myself to transcribe them as I listened to the music. All mistakes are my own.)
This cache is located near Clary Field and Zeis Field in Greencastle, PA. Easy parking near the cache is readily available.
