Geocache Description:

2025 Community Celebration Event & WSGA - Puget Sound Chapter Summer Picnic

Date: August 8th, 2025

Time: 4:30 PM- 7:30 PM

Place: Lake Sammamish State Park
           2010 N.W. Sammamish Road, Issaquah

Shelter: N47 33.322 W122 04.054

This is an official WSGA (Washington State Geocaching Association) event.

Dinner will start at 5:30 PM; hamburgers, hot dogs, condiments, chips, and drinks will be provided. If you have other dietary needs, bring something you will enjoy.  Volunteers are needed to help with the setup (starting at 4:30 PM) and clean up afterward (finishing by 7:30 PM).  If you arrive early, you will be put to work. The park opens at 6:30 AM and closes at dusk (8:30 PM on the 8th), so feel free to enjoy the day.

Visitors can enjoy two swimming beaches, sandy volleyball courts, and forested trails open to hikers and bikers.  Kayak, pedal boat, and standup paddleboard rentals are available near Tibbets Beach. Playgrounds can be found at Sunset Beach, Tibbets Beach, and along the trail between Sunset and Tibbets.  Our picnic shelter features a central fire pit, is conveniently situated between the two parking areas, and is between the two swimming beaches. Restrooms are located nearby.

We'll have raffles!  Bring your current WSGA membership badge and be entered into a special raffle to win one of 25 geocoins!  Raffles start at 6:30 PM, and you must be present to win!

The Washington State Geocaching Association sponsors this event. It is open to all geocachers: Puget Sound area cachers and visitors, WSGA members and non-members, seasoned cachers and newcomers, and families are always welcome. So come, eat, visit friends, meet new folks, trade caching secrets, and enjoy the day!

If you are a geocacher in Washington, please consider joining the WSGA. Follow this link to visit our website to learn more about becoming a WSGA member.  An opportunity to join or renew a WSGA membership will be available at the event.

The event is being held in a Washington State Park, so a Discover Pass or day pass is required to park.
