I was searching for an event date that worked with my schedule and hopefully some of the resident cachers as well. Cape Coral has just opened this new park. Crystal Lake Park offers covered shelters, a walking path, workout stations, kayak and boat ramp into a salt water canal with access to the gulf (and hundreds of kayak geocache), a sandy beach on the fresh water lake (enter at your own risk), and if you are here in the evening, sunset from Mount Caloosa viewing stations.
THE EVENT:
We will be in Shelter 3 near the parking lot with handicap parking close by. Look for the Mermaids.
Yes, there will be COOKIES for National Cookie Day. Please mark your will attend so I can get enough for everyone.
As a give back to the community, I will also be collecting a couple of items that you may have laying around your house (This is NOT required to attend).
AMERICAN FLAGS that need to be properly retired will be collected. I will then transport them to the Veterans in Charlotte County for proper retirement.
OLD GLASSES that are broken or no longer the correct prescription, or that you just don't want anymore. I will transport these to the LION's club for recycling and reuse.
POSTCARD souveneir will be given out by Geocaching HQ for attending an event September 28 - October 4.
You may want to bring your own beverage to accompany your treat also feel free to bring your kayak, swimsuit, or walking shoes.
