Sunday August 24th from 2pm to 4pm
Esquimalt Gorge Park
Where would geocaching be without the containers?
Ever since that first bucket in Oregon, containers have been an integral part of geocaching. In this 25th year of geocaching, let's get together and celebrate the heroic containers that spend their lives out in the wild for our enjoyment.
There will be several games (with prizes!):
- Film Canister Closest to the Pin - Toss a film canister from 20 feet away and try to be the closest to the pin (with a putting green for practice!)
- Guess How Many CC Specials - Make your best guess for how many CC Specials are in the bag
- What's the Size? - Test your knowledge of container size ratings
Prizes will be awarded at around 3:45. If you aren't there at that time and win a prize, I'll contact you and arrange to get your prize to you later.
We'll meet at the picnic tables just to the west of the Gorge Park Pavilion, but feel free to bring your own chairs for extra seating.
The Pavilion has washrooms and a water fountain, and the Nature House also has washrooms. Dogs are allowed, but must be on-leash around the event location. An off-leash area is available to the south of the parking lot.
