Event Details
The pub serves food at a reasonable price and food is served until 9pm. We have the back room reserved - turn right at the bar and go through to the back of the dining area. For more information and example menus search for 'The White Hart Henfield' using your preferred search engine.

The pub car park can get busy in which case there is additional parking available in the village car park on the other side of the High Street. This is free parking after 18:00 but there is a small charge if you park before 18:00. There is sometimes free parking available on the High Street.
About the Venue
This venue is a grade ll listed building with its northern half being 17th century and the southern part a more recent early 19th century addition. Before the London and Brighton Railway opened in 1841 the main form of 'public transport' was by stagecoach. The route via Henfield avoided the steep hill climb at Clayton and Henfield has two coaching inns that survive to this day. The one at the southern end of the High Street was recorded from 1729, and this venue at the northern end, recorded from 1764. The southern inn was a coaching stop c. 1800, when postchaises and saddle horses could be hired there; whereas this venue was the chief coaching inn in the 1830s.
About these Events
These monthly mid-week cache events in Sussex have been running since 2008 (with the exception of recent lockdowns and the pandemic) and have become solid fixtures in the diaries of cachers across the South East. Attendances are growing, with new cachers always particularly welcome.
The events are scheduled to take place on the third Wednesday of each month, each time at a different location across Sussex and hosted by a different cacher or caching team.
