19th Annual SW MiGO CHILI COOKOFF!

And we need Chefs!
Saturday, November 8, 2025
at First Evangelical Covenant Church
1933 Tremont Blvd NW, Grand Rapids 49504

Let's celebrate with a fantastic day of Chili Testing! Break out your best chili recipes and start pinching and dashing and splashing to see if you have what it takes to take home the coveted SW MiGO Chili Champion TROPHY or MEDALS!

The Chiliquistadors are looking for 15 Chili Chefs/Teams to bring their A-game, bring the heat, dish it out, lay it all on the line. Everyone in attendance will take the opportunity to taste your offerings and then vote for who they say has the
Best Chili Overall, The Hottest Chili, and The Best Presentation.
To be one of the Chili Chefs, please contact one of the Chiliquistadors: GHBuccaneer, Pepstreet, or you can throw down your gauntlet by posting a NOTE on this cache page. We will keep a running list of our competing chefs right here. Chefs, the doors will open for you at 10:00 a.m. to give you time to get set up and prep your goods.
When making your pot of chili, PLEASE make a pot large enough to serve approx. 150-200 people***. Serving size approx. 1/4 cup ***doing the math that is about 2-1/2 - 3 gallons (10 - 12 quarts) Each year several people have run out early, so be sure to come prepared for a BIG crowd. We will be providing spoons and taste testing bowls.
ATTENDEES
If you don't fancy being a chef, we want you to come and try it all to help us choose the 2022 Champion Chili Cookoff Chef. The doors will open at 10:00 a.m. for attendees/tasters and the tasting will commence at 12 Noon. All you need to bring is an appetite for chili and maybe your own beverage (non-alcoholic). There will be water and lemonade available and there will also be some other food stuffs for those who can't take the heat or choose not to participate in the judging. Please bring a side-dish or dessert goodies. Corn Bread is always welcome.

Door prizes will be given out at 1:00 p.m. followed by the
