Geocache Description:

Do you like road trips?  Do you like beaches, scenic shoreline bluffs, or giant sand dunes?  How about lakeside city skylines, lighthouses or long suspension bridges?  If so, this challenge cache might be just the right inspiration for your next getaway.

The Lake Michigan Circle Tour (LMCT) is a road trip that loops around Lake Michigan, following state highways through Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The tour is the only Great Lakes Circle Tour that doesn't cross into Canada, as Lake Michigan is the only Great Lake entirely within the United States.

This challenge replicates a challenge cache found on the opposite side of Lake Michigan in Ludington, MI (https://coord.info/GC9CNWG).  To qualify, you must find and log at least one cache in each county that borders Lake Michigan.  This includes 18 counties in Michigan, 3 in Indiana, 2 in Illinois, and 11 in Wisconsin.  All cache types count.  You may sign the log at any time (with an accompanying note posted to the cache page).  Proof of qualification must be provided to log a "Found It".  Logs without proof may be deleted without notice.  D/T is for the challenge. I finished qualifying for this challenge in September 2023.

This cache is hidden at one of my favorite local scenic overlooks of Lake Michigan, located within Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve.  Please obey all preserve rules, regulations, and hours of operation while searching for this cache.
