Mr. Owl's cousin Barnabus, lives much deeper in the woods. He's very old now and walks with a cane. When asked if he misses flying, he smiles and says "if I could still fly I would never have discovered the solitude and quiet beauty of the mountain laurel. Every day I walk amongst these simple giants and soak in the silence. Just because you can't fly anymore does not mean that you should despair. Often times we must descend from our lofty heights just to appreciate the strange and marvelous world that is right under your beak."
Barnabus carved a trail through mountain laurels and lives under an old log making trinkets and trackables for anyone who comes to visit him in this quiet little corner of paradise. If you remain quiet just long enough and listen to the crickets and the wind.... you just might start to learn something about yourself. Simon Potter has been known to frequent these woods. You might just get lucky and have some tea at Owl's home with Mr. Potter.
located in beautiful Gill Putnam Park in Jackson. Parking located near the playground. It's a beautiful walk down a dirt road and ATV trail. I don't recommend trying to access the cache from the vacant dead end street nearby otherwise you'll have to bushwhack quite a lot. Parking is right next to cache: GCAY9DQ. This is a nice kid friendly cache that won't tire them out too much. follow the ATV trail and make a left at the fork. No serious bushwhacking required for this one.
