It has been said by whispering school children across the city that there is an evil, horrible, vile troll who lives near a bridge on the Bruce Trail. Legend has it that the troll has been stealing gold coins and jewlery off of scared hikers for decades, and then eating them whole!
What he does with the gold afterwards, no one really knows... Some say they've spotted the troll, hunched back and greasy hair, hopping from pawn shop to pawn shop downtown. Others say that if you listen closely as you walk past his grotto at night, you can hear the faint clinking of golden coins under his feet as he skitters between the rocks.
Well... I think it's time someone found out for sure and returned the gold to these poor hikers' families, so I've taken it upon myself to investigate. I've already confirmed the sightings downtown to be false from reliable sources, but I have yet to rule out all the rocky spots near every river in Hamilton to find his grotto. Here's the thing... There's an awful lot of them and I simply cannot stake them all out by myself, so I've come to you.
I'm willing to offer you a trade in which I give you the coordinates for one of the rocky spots I've narrowed down. You will scope out the spot and report back to me, and in return if you succeed, I will let you keep one piece of gold that you find... provided you survive the mission that is...
Oh and one more thing: be sure to carry along something that looks like gold to swap his stash with in the event that you do find it so that he won't notice a difference should he return before you can make your escape! Trust me, you don't want to hear what the rumours say regarding the last guy who almost got away with it...
