Gli adulti si nutrono del nettare di rovi, cardi e centaurea, e anche di melata di afidi. La fritillaria argentata è una forte volatrice, e più mobile di altre fritillarie, e, come tale, può essere vista planare sopra la volta degli alberi ad alta velocità. Il suo habitat preferito è un bosco di latifoglie, rado e soleggiato, in particolare querce, ma è noto che viva anche in boschi di conifere.

Silver-washed fritillary
Adults feed on the nectar of bramble, thistles, and knapweeds, and also on aphid honeydew. The silver-washed is a strong flier, and more mobile than other fritillaries, and, as such, can be seen gliding above the tree canopy at high speed. Its preferred habitat is thin, sunny, deciduous woodland, especially oaks, but it has been known to live in coniferous woodland.
