"For those who have fought for it Life has a quality the sheltered will never know."
Eleven large stainless steel crosses represent eleven years of continuous duty in The Republic of South Vietnam. Three large black granite tablets show the names of all 521 Australians and 36 New Zealanders killed in the conflict. They are listed alphabetically, without rank or number or unit, suggesting that all were equal in their sacrifice.
Trees have been planted for each life lost. The cache is located in one of these trees, in the area recognising "SAS 7 KILLED".
This is a rest area with parking, picnic tables and toilet facilities.
