Pardes Hanna-Karkur is a local council in the Haifa district of Israel, created in 1969 from the union of the two local councils Pardes Hanna (founded in 1929) and Karkur (founded in 1913)
פַּרְדֵּס חַנָּה–כַּרְכּוּר היא מועצה מקומית במחוז חיפה בישראל, שנוצרה בשנת 1969 מאיחוד שתי המועצות המקומיות פַּרְדֵּס חַנָּה (נוסדה ב-1929) וכַּרְכּוּר (נוסדה ב-1913)
Back in the 1950s, the idea of uniting Pardes Hana and Karkur came up, but then they stopped discussing the idea because in Pardes Hana the party that won the most votes in the elections was from PAI, while in Karkur, MPM "ruled". After the 1959 elections, Mapai won in Karkur as well, the idea of uniting the authorities into a skin and sinew began.
עוד בשנות ה-50 של המאה ה-20 עלה הרעיון לאחד את פרדס חנה וכרכור, אולם אז חדלו מלדון ברעיון מכיוון שבפרדס חנה המפלגה שזכתה למרבית הקולות בבחירות הייתה מפא"י, בעוד שבכרכור "שלטה" מפ"ם. לאחר שבבחירות ב-1959 גברה מפא"י גם בכרכור, החל הרעיון לאחד את הרשויות לקרום עור וגידים.
