A search for explanations or definition of “friend” can get mired down in scientific and sociological explanations that could make one wonder whether one qualifies as a friend to someone else.
Normal, everyday language and thoughts seem to define a friendship between or among others as accepting them as someone they can count on to provide some support and understanding.
Of course, casually or scientifically there are accepted degrees of friendship. There can be “good friends”, ‘best friends”, “family friends”, “best friends for life (BFF)” or simply “casual friends”. Thankfully one is not restricted to having friends at only one level.
Real friends are said to share interests in social situations, work or school, pastimes or hobbies, and are “there” when needed.
Any way one looks at it, fortunately Geocaching provides an environment that encourages such relationships and most of us are pleased at the prospect.

The road is in good shape for a desert track though some parts may favor a bit more clearance than available in most family cars. Use your best judgement.
Be aware of the usual suspects in the desert; things that bite, sting, scratch, poke, etc. Uneven ground can make secure footing a concern. Step carefully. Always a good idea to bring some water along.
