About This Location
The statue of Sri Chinmoy, titled Dreamer of World Peace, honors the spiritual leader and peace advocate. Installed on November 7, 2010, the statue was created by sculptor Kaivalya Torpy. This bronze figure was the seventh of its kind globally and the first in the contiguous United States. The statue and its plaque invite you to reflect on peace and harmony.
Sri Chinmoy was known for his work promoting world peace and spiritual growth. He led twice-weekly meditations at the United Nations for nearly four decades and founded the World Harmony Run, a torch relay across more than 100 countries. During his life, he inspired many through his achievements in art, music, athletics, and poetry. His visits to Seattle (13 in total) deepened his connection to the city, and he was recognized by the University of Washington in 1980 for his contributions to art and literature.
At the statue’s dedication, Fremont was ceremoniously named “the center of the universe for world harmony” in his honor. This statue remains a cultural landmark, symbolizing global unity and personal reflection for all who visit.

About the HQ GeoTour 2.0
Welcome to Fremont, the bustling neighborhood of Seattle that Geocaching HQ proudly calls home. Fremont has been crowned the Center of the Known Universe, and we like to think of it as a hub in the geocaching universe as well!
There is something curious about Fremont. If you’re here long enough, you might start to feel an unusual gravitational pull. Like an urge to return time and again, as if you’re caught in a cosmic loop. It’s a phenomenon described by Fremont Scientists, who, after some “research” at a local pub in 1991, declared that the intersection of N Fremont Ave and 35th St N was the true Center of the Universe. Their findings, while a bit wobbly, were backed up by the claim that it couldn’t be proven or disproven. These scientists convinced the Metropolitan King County Council to officially proclaim Fremont the Center of the Known Universe.
So, get ready for an adventure through Fremont with the HQ GeoTour. This neighborhood is full of unique spots and hidden gems. From eclectic art installations to local treasures, each cache location tells a story of this unforgettable area.
