At the site of the Mercedes Benz garage, there used to be a cafe called Eddie's cafe then changed its name to Barton's cafe which was a popular haunt for rockers in the 1960's. I refer to it as Barton's Corner.
There's a lot references to Westgate in the area, I believe this comes from the name of a gate or entrance of Slough Trading Estate, the West Gate.
