Inghamdale was also an 18th-century stone farmhouse, that was once the home of Hollywood writer Budd Schulberg. Schulberg lived at Inghamdale from 1948 to 1955 and wrote several works there, including On the Waterfront (1954), Waterfront (1955), The Harder They Fall (1947), and The Disenchanted (1950).
