the site wich you are now at is the current home of bridgeport masonic lodge , but back in the early days of the ohio valley, 1791 to be exact, there once set a small cabin and a block house know as ft kirkwood or kirkwoods block named after cpt. robert kirkwood. forts or blockhouses gave a safe location for setelers to go to when danger came their way.
