This is my first hide in Utah after moving here about a month ago from Oregon.
I wasn't specifically planning to hide a cache today, but after a fun high terrain event that julianaxiodite also attended, our conversation about hiking in foothills like these inspired me to place one.
His approach to the event had been to basically bushwhack from the parking lot straight up. Mine had been to carefully follow the premium trails map. Either option is perfectly reasonable in these low vegetation hills (would be a very different story in Oregon...which is where I learned to carefully research access points to caches haha).
This hide will force you to make a decision as there is no direct trail. I've labeled a couple of waypoints that could be helpful. You could also bushwhack straight up...or even make your way down from GC1RZWC, which is how we found ourselves here.
I've included spoiler pictures since I don't want you to make it all the way up and not get that smiley. The container was one of the laziest throw downs I've ever seen, where someone placed it on one end of a GRC in Oregon when the actual container was still right where it should be on the other end. Being a Dodgers fan, I felt this container deserved much better, so I removed it back then and it's now getting a worthy home.
