Wantage War Memorial is a Clipsham limestone memorial with a gabled cross on top
of tall tapering column resting on a square plinth with the inscription:
TO THE MEMORY OF
THE MEN OF WANTAGE
WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
IN THE TWO WORLD WARS
1914 - 1918/ 1939 - 1945
This in turn rests on octagonal base with metal plaques containing names
which were added in 2007 following refurbishment.
Unveiled on 8th May 1949 by: Gen. Sir Miles Dempsey GBE, KC, DSO, MC.
