**This Cache is a part of the upcoming Monte Rio Regional Park**
There are currently three trailheads leading to these paths - parking is free, but will be $7 (or free with a Sonoma County Park Pass) once the park is officially open.
Monte Rio in the 20s and 30s was a hopping town, full of resorts with a thriving nightlife - an escape for the San Francisco hoi polloi who wanted to party at the Russian River.
Who knows what pleasure seeker decided to ride their Coupe up a logging trail into the Redwood forest - maybe a nee'r do well escaping the feds? Maybe a gangster bringing bootlegged hooch to the clubs down in the city?
It looks like whatever it was - they never made it to their destination! Whatever happened to them, hopefully their spirits are at rest, and enjoying the serenity of the Coastal Redwoods.
